Time for Convergence, really

Convergence has been a buzzword for a while, but this time it’s for reals (well, mostly). Convergence 2008 is a new conference for digital marketing and communications mavens. The good news is that VIDFEST has partnered up with this new conference organized by ad agency, Cossette.

With a VIDFEST VIP pass get access to a full day of mainstage conference sessions at Convergence 2008. It’s designed to keep your digital marketing efforts ahead of the pack. The keynote is Grant McCracken, an expert on branding and digital culture. He is the author of several books including Culture and Consumption, Plenitude, and Transformation, and Culture and Consumption II: Markets, meaning and brand management. I read his early books in school a while back. Good stuff. He’ll be sharing his insights along with other top panelists in eight sessions.

The other speakers are coming from Future Shop, Nokia, Cossette, and even McDonalds(!) - a pretty hi-fi lineup and it looks like they have some very practical info to give you that competitive edge too. Here’s a peak at some of the session titles:

  • Giving Your Brand Away: Brand Communities
  • Web 2.0: Social Media Measurement
  • Mobile Marketing Insider: Research and Applied Solutions

This is a great add for the VIDFEST VIP passholder. You get not only the Creative Exchange Conference, the Gala, the screening, and all the other parties, but also most of the sessions from this conference too. Neat.
