Early Bird Tix Ends May 1st
Don’t be a late bird! Our Early Bird pricing which can save you up to $100 ends today. Just to recap, these are some of the amazing people and events happening this year.
It all starts with our opening reception at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Attendees will party and get access to the uber-cool new exhibit: KRAZY - The Delirious World Of Anime + Comics + Video Games + Art. And, if you’re real lucky, maybe industrial artist, Johnathan Tippett, will let you on his Mondo Spider. This ’spider’ is a 1500 lb, mechanical, ridable, walking machine. Commissioned by Burning Man, it’s sure to get the VIDFEST party started.
Then on Friday, its the Creative Exchange Conference. Our gathering of the best and most visionary minds in digital media. We’ve got Chris Anderson, editor of Wired, Heather Armstrong and Maggie Mason, superstar bloggers, John Perry Barlow, former grateful Dead lyricist, Evan Biddell, bad boy of Canadian fashion, and Dr. Eric McLuhan, son of communications guru Marshall McLuhan, just to name a few.
On Friday night, get gussied up for the PopVox awards Gala. Toast the winners of the people’s choice awards in digital media. Awards for 11 categories, from Best User Generated/Crowdsourced Content Site to Best Mobile Game will be presented. Maybe you’re getting one! If not, you’ll have to make do with fabulous food, DJs, and beautiful people.
Then Saturday, come out to Pitch ‘n’ Play. Up and comers including, Strutta, Fit Brains, NSI’s PlayWrite participants, and CBC’s Digital Development Lab Winner will pitch their wares and engage Q&A all in tight 15 minute blocks. In between pitches, play Wii games, Guitar Hero, and more on the big screen. I couldn’t think of a much better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
