Described by Wired.com as a celebration of “the most wild and unexpected flavours in international film and music video”, RESFEST is a travelling film festival that showcases short and feature-length films that push the boundaries of filmmaking techniques. This year it is travelling to over 30 cities on six continents.
The Vancouver installation of RESFEST features the full length films Just for Kicks and Ginga, the soul of Brasilian Football. Just for Kicks charts the athletic footwear fetish from sneakers’ early adoption by the style warriors of 1970s New York City to their status today as a de facto apparel of choice for an entire generation.Ginga is a slick, dynamic documentary that explores Brazilian life through the country’s favorite sport.
